HISTORY

Six Nations of the Grand River Territory has seen a few changes in the policing of its territory. From 1924, when the RCMP policed the community to 1968 when the OPP patrols were visible, to 1982 when the OPP set up a patrol unit specifically for Six Nations. In 1985, Six Nations entered into the Ontario wide Indian Constable Program and has progressed to the status of a Six Nations Self-Administered Police Service.
