CST. ARNOLD JACOBS RECEIVES FREEDOM WRITERS AWARD
Every year the Freedom Writers Foundation chooses one person for a scholarship to attend and learn first hand her methods for engaging “high risk” students. This scholarship covers all costs to attend the Freedom Writers Foundation in Long Beach, California.
At the 2012 COYO Youth, Justice and Community Conference, during her keynote address to a delegation of over 500 people, Erin Gruwell announced that she had chosen Cst. Arnold “Bub” Jacobs for the scholarship.
There is no doubt that Bub's commitment to the community, in particular the young people, during his tenure as CSO, was a big part of why he was recognized with this honour.
As the 1st native person, let alone native police officer, to receive this scholarship, Bub has done himself, our police service and our Community “proud” ! It is impressive and he is very deserving of this recognition.
